Volunteer As volunteers, we empower thousands of young people to learn new skills, make new friends and feel good about themselves. Today, at the 14th Walthamstow there are over 200 young people waiting to join us. That’s where you come in. You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent. Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we can only change lives because people like you lend a hand. We’re talking about tea makers, tidy uppers and skill sharers. We’re talking about minibus drivers and first aiders. We provide the training. You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life. Volunteer today and help us prepare more young people with skills for life. If you could help us out once or twice a term, it’d make a big difference. So When do the Sloths meeet? We meet every Thursday evening to help our 14 to 18-year-olds get going, get thinking and get stuck into all kinds of things to give them skills for life. Every now and then that may well mean using a compass, but more often than not it’s about confidence, speaking up, thinking on their feet and going for it. Can you help?
